Six Points Mystery Mansion

Looking east on Bloor towards Kipling. This grand home was demolished to build the plaza seen below. Thanks to Anonymous for locating this photo.

  1. I remember there being a couple of big houses on Dundas overlooking the subway station until developer ripped them down 6, 7 years ago. They were odd and what was with that odd little street just below. I heard there was a dance hall down there. Maybe I'm dreaming.

  2. My Grandparents lived in the middle house of the three. One remains but not for long.
There was a little enclave of post war bungalows in a small valley below to the east. They're all gone now and replaced by the towering condos. I had a school friend who lived in one of them.

  3. The mystery mansion was actually on the west side of Kipling Avenue, just north of Bloor. The first photo is looking down Bloor Street towards Kipling (Six Points Plaza would be on the right). The house and vacant lot behind became the strip mall where McCall's cake supply store is today.

  4. Thanks for posting the current day picture - the fire hydrant, power poles line up perfectly. The old garage next store is still standing. I was the "Anonymous" post yesterday. The house was boarded up some time in the 1950's and demolished in the late 50's early 60's. Known to local children as the spooky house, then the spooky field.

  6. I Lived 4 houses from that home, yes it was the spooky house, we played in it in the mid 60's, then it was torn down and left as a field, then a plaza, located at the top of Prennan Avenue and Bloor in Etobicoke,
