Queen and Portland/Then and Now

The north side of Queen at Portland in the early 1980's.
This strip of Queen still had a strong Eastern European presence back then.
I remember that the owner of this used book store (previously located further east on Queen) got onto some trouble for inappropriate behaviour....
An even earlier photo from 1958 can be found here.

  1. There was a Massimo's restaurant in the Epicure space in the '90s - not sure how much it was related to the pizza joint, inasmuch as it was more of a real restaurant. It was my regular night out with a group of friends for the longest time - a bunch of people I was very close to and don't see anymore. It's a fantastic little stand of late Victorian retail storefronts.

  2. Did the Epicure re-locate? It must have, as a former girlfriend of mine worked there in the 80's as well as the Rivoli and the Queen Mother.
