TTC Garage at Howard Park Then and Now

Here's a TTC bus maintenance garage from June 1928 located on Howard Park
just east of Roncesvalles. Howard Park is named after John Howard who "donated"
High Park to the city in 1873
.
The same building today. Now surrounded by condos and
broken down cars. This entire block from Roncesvalles to Dundas is scheduled to fall in the next year for another massive condo complex.

  1. Hey Greg
Further east along Howard Park Ave. at #1 is a interesting building - white with red trim.
    Was a buddhist temple . . . now ?

  2. I think it was Daniel Lanois' new studio, tho' I've heard a rumour he shut that down because of streetcar noise. Don't quote me on that, though...

  3. I read a article about him in the studio.
Hope he didn't close it down.

  4. You're both right. It was a Buddhist temple for years and Daniel Lanois did buy it. I know the guy that was doing the reno on it and went to visit a couple of times.
I hadn't heard that he'd shut it down but you never know.
