Yonge Street/Then and Now

The Rosticceria Tavern(1950) is now the Zanzibar Strip Club.Rosticceria means Rotisserie.
George Richards is still in business.Zanzibar 2011.

Yonge and Dundas 1950

Prior to the construction of the Yonge subway line the city photographed the stores along Yonge to asses any damage claims that might be caused from the build.

I wonder what clothes were sold at Coward Clothes...yellow perhaps?

Lonely House on Elm

This forlorn house on Elm just west of Yonge is probably one of the last private homes in the neighbourhood.
